  • In-plane load calculation for a titanium weld
  • Determination of the minimum height of a component to be linear friction welded
  • Impact of the compact area for a transverse and longitudinal oscillation linear friction weld
  • Contact bearing stress during welding
  • Component stability in the oscillating clamp jaws during welding
  • Standard plate stock sizes have been identified for both North American and European sources
  • Material allowances and manufacturing specifications for tailored blank production have been developed and identified
  • A short trade study on the proposed method of incoming part preparation has been completed
  • A proposal document on the method and deployment of non-destructive testing of linear friction welds has been prepared
